Royal Ring held it's first card since the inception of this english readers blog last night, and it was said to be well received, with some fans going so far as to call Royal Ring the Japanese ROH, well not entirely accurate, managment took this is as a favorable compliment.
The first match on the card saw Satoshi Ishibashi make his debut and take Daijiro Sasaki to his limits. Ishibashi managed to score a big victory in his first Royal Ring match with a powerbomb in a little over 22 min. Ishibashi said it felt good proving his trainers wrong, and showing them that he is ready to step into the ring. Sasaki said that Ishibashi is a lot tougher than he looks and that his actions outside of the ring may be disrespectful and arrogant, but that he means business when he's wrestling. Our cameras were off line for this match, and unfortunately we do not have video footage of Ishibashi's debut.

The second match pitted the semi-regular team of Akira Hiroyama and Ryo Taguchi up against the Cordova Bros. Akira Hiroyama and Ryo Taguchi announced before the match that they were only interested in establishing their physical dominance in the tag team division, and that winning the match wasn't important. The two teams went back and forth and it was said to be an enjoyable match. It ended when all four men refused to answer the 20 count outside the ring at around the 20min mark.

Our next bout featured Marja Marz facing off against Yuka Nishiyama with the winner facing Ayame Yamoto for the JRC championship at our 03/29/08 show. This was an evenly matched fight, but Marja got the upper hand with her stiff kicks. The ending was a surprise to everyone when Marja locked on an elbow knee hold and Nishiyama tapped. Nishiyama was said to have suffered minor damage to her knee as a result of the move and will be out of action for around 2 weeks as per doctors orders.

Taru Kyomatsu faced "Sweet" Pete Good next. This match was a brawl, with both competitors landing some heavy strikes. Kyomatsu was busted open early, but it was no problem for the former death match star to deal with, and he soldiered on. Kyomatsu hit a Minoru special III on Good for the win at 24:25.

Next up was the two behemoths, Sam Hamlin, and Heavy Takada. Both men took it too one another and as a result ended up gassing out early. Despite the match being the shortest of the night, it was also one of the stiffest. The end came when Takada nailed a Takada Tidal Splash at 14:02.

Fans expected the next match to be epic, and unfortunately it didn't deliver as expected. While it was still a good match, it was not what everyone expected. It was the second shortest match of the night and only by seconds. Taka Ichigawa and Kotaro Shinaga just didn't get in the groove tonight and delivered a match that ended in only 14 minutes and 6 seconds. Shinaga picked up the victory with a modified figure four.
[Kotaro Shinaga] modified figure four [Taka Ichigawa] 14:06.
Our main event was next. Koji Tanaka and Yujiro Hashin vs. Yoshi Hiromata and Kazu Narita. Hiromata said this would be a test to see how well Narita held up in big matches. He certainly held up well, scoring the submission win over RRC Heavyweight Champion Koji Tanaka with a reverse viper hold in 31:46. Tanaka said that bad days happened and promised to make this up to his fans. Narita on the other hand was confident and according to Royal Ring rules, anyone who pins or submits the champion in a non-title situation is automatically granted a title shot. Narita said he wants that shot to happen at the 03/29/08 event.
